Erma and I went to Ambros for lunch. I had wonderful cheesy potato soup and Erma had a tenderloin the size of a dinner plate. Both very good. Then to VM vet to pick up Boogie who was over there for a urinary tract blockage. 2nd time in the past year. Didn't last long. A relapse this a.m. so back to VM. Better again so will wait to see what else to do.
Took the dogs out yesterday and today for a walk. It's not enough - Levi is still full of energy! Nancy from Iowa Stars came out with cat food, blankets, e tc to help care for the black kittens she has brought out over the last few weeks. We really appreciate their contributions. Hopefully they will calm down so they can be outside this spring. A couple of other adult cats have shown up this winter also.
Our "outside" family seems to be really enjoying the sun today. It's a beautiful 48 degrees and sunny (mostly). All are scattered around just standing or lying in the sun. The snow has melted so the birds can now clean up all the seed they knocked out of the feeders. I think most of my cardinals, blue jays and woodpeckers. Dozens and dozens of snowbirds, finches and other small birds flood our yard. Amazing that they can disappear so quickly and quietly when a hawk shows up.
John here with round bales just in time. We are down to the bottom in a couple of the lots and having to use square bales which we like to keep for the horses that come into the barn at night. The others have sheds if they want shelter.
Talked to our veterinarians about Ringo who is still not doing well. We're going to try a couple of other medications and see if that helps. Hate seeing him not feeling well. Uncle Sam has another 3 or 4 weeks of turn-out 2 hours a day, then back to the trainer for a slow start to see if he's recovered from surgery and can get ready to show again. Sam is going crazy not able to do much and is no fun at all to deal with right now. Jennifer's looking forward to the day he's better and back down in southern Iowa. Cisco was walking/trotting better yesterday so he'll get checked out again in a few weeks.
